Shannon Callahan
http://shannoncallahan.de/

Long awaited solo CD of Berlin based American singer/songwriter Shannon Callahan is here! After touring opera and musical theater stages and running away to sing with the circus, Shannon picked up her guitar to tell her story. Shannon’s sincere, skillful and warm honeyed voice sings the tales of lasting love and bummer boyfriends, of foggy San Francisco and Berlin streets, betrayal, murder and forgiveness, all accompanied by an all-star ensemble of contrabass, guitar, dobro and percussion.

When Shannon ’s not touring as guitarist and singer with Chris Norman (Smokie) or with The Finest band partner Ron Spielman, she’s busy writing songs for Jocelyn B. Smith, Maike Von Bremen (Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten), The Nighthawks, and recording/arranging for artists at Universal. After winning First Place in the Emergenza Singer/Songwriter’s Competetion in Germany, Shannon decided to use her gifts as a songwriter and singer for her own album. Heroines such as Emmy Lou Harris, Joni Mitchell, Alison Krauss, and Sheryl Crow can be heard echoing through the Americana/pop/folk/soul of Shannon’s songs. This acoustic feast is pure heart, honest story telling and a warm introduction to naked, true singer/songwriting at its very best.
