Unique yet classic, Captain Yange’s melodic and powerful sound combines the global appeal of U2 and the Chilis with the inventiveness of Muse and Radiohead. They have also been compared to Led Zeppelin, Tool and Incubus. The sound is heavy and melodic, with loud guitars, drums that funk and vocal harmonies. Synthesizers and triggered samples are used to flesh out the traditional band sound. The songs are heartfelt and emotive. Si and Scott’s lyrics draw on experience to examine poignant subject matter such as global politics, cold callers, arguments and old friends gone astray. They are currently working on songs for their debut album, due for release later this year. They are also getting production and input from a top London producer to develop and promote their songs further. Headline appearances so far include The Underworld (Camden), The Underground (Stoke) and HMV showcases at The Late Room (Manchester).
