Past M.D. was formed in August 2004 by guitarist D.P. and vocalist Josh. Both had worked together in German Metal Band Midnight Darkness, who released the album Holding the Night through GAMA records in September 1985. It was during this period, that DP and Josh established their songwriting partnership.

Unfortunately MD split up shortly after, however D.P. and Josh were soon to form the follow up BornChild. Until 1989, BornChild played numerous shows in Germany and the Netherlands, among others as support for Tygers Of Pan-Tang and Magnum. It was only when Josh left the Band, that the musical collaboration with D.P. ended.
