David was born in Forest Gate, East London, and moved to Berlin in 1988. Where he formed the experimental rock band Naklada. They played most of the squats and dives of the early 90’s. During this time he also played double bass, with various chanson / punk and folk bands and toured extensively. In 1995 he decided to go solo, touring in the States and in Europe and released four CD’s, building his own cult like status fan base. His music unites his love of traditional roots English folk music, and his belief in the spirit of the people. He also draws inspiration and forms his own brand of music from the 70’s, and musical heroes like Bowie, Harrison and Costello. For David, music is a vehicle for expressing his inner emotions, in a very personal open and playful way, where he can laugh about himself; tell his stories and stories about the world he sees around him. In his songs the listener will hear; romance, at times anger, melancholy, and love, often served up with a little British humour. His words now delve into psychological issues, dealing with family and childhood and how those issues affect us.
